Summary:
For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
Review:
Hush, Hush was an amazingly awesome novel, though what else could you expect from a book that has a cover and summary as great as the one this does?
When I set down to read this, I was expecting to read a couple of chapters and then go to bed, because it was getting late. Though, as soon as I hit chapter two, I was hooked by this addictive novel filled with action, forbidden romance, and fallen angels. Leaving my quick read of a couple chapters to turn into a night were I read a whole book in one sitting.
Nora was a character that was definitely three dimensional because you could feel her fears and desires throughout the book. Patch was the same way though adding the part where you think he would be drop dead gorgeous in real life. But one of my favorite characters was Vee because she added a funny undertone to the story with her dialogue.
The plot was also well done, making Becca a new favorite author of mine. I loved the twists and turns she brought out with the fallen angel and forbidden love sub-plots. Also, her writing always moved in a smooth and easy way making Hush, Hush an excellent read.
Overall, Becca's Hush, Hush was an amazing debut, one of my favs of '09. And I truly can't express how much I want to read Crescendo without sounding all fangirly. :)
Grade: A+
Hush, Hush hits shelves October 13, 2009. So, make sure you're in the loop and pick it up! :)
*Much thanks goes to Becca as well as CH at Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing for sending me this novel! :)
