Blog Tour: Lost for You by Jayne Frost (Review & Giveaway!)

Lost for You (Six Street Bands, #4) by Jayne Frost

*While Lost For You is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.*

Lost for You Synopsis:
I've been clean for years. But now my addiction has a face. Her face...

At eighteen, I stood at the precipice of stardom. I had the record deal. And the tour to back it up. But I succumbed to the pressure of that life. The dark side.

Now, I skate on the fringe. My brother is the genius guitarist for the band Caged, and I’m the one who helped make that happen. I’m happy to run my bars and my land development company.

Sure I am.

And then I meet her—Taryn Ayers—the music manager behind the three biggest bands in the country. She doesn’t know I’m Cam’s older brother. Or that I’ve got a secret that makes her world and mine fundamentally incompatible.

Problem is, I want to know Taryn. I crave her as much as any drug.

But can I risk letting her know me?

Lost For You is a STAND ALONE New Adult Romance.

Intended for mature audiences due to hot as sin rockstars and the world they live in.

**Please note: This book contains instances of drug use.**

Review:

Jayne Frost's Lost For You was a true surprise. I expected to like it, but I never expected to like it as much as I did.

It's gritty. It's emotional. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through - hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

What I Liked:

1. The Main Characters - Lost For You introduces Taryn and Chase, two adults thrown together unexpectedly. Taryn and Chase have been facing their respective demons for years. Taryn is still reeling from the tragic loss of her best friends as well as the changes that came with the accident that took their lives. I connected with Taryn from the get-go. I admired her strength and tact; however, what I liked the most about her was that she wasn't perfect. She doesn't always say what's on her mind. She's left her other best friend - the survivor of the accident - take complete charge over areas where Taryn would've liked some control/say as well. Her romantic life is a disaster. My heart broke for her time and time again. I just wanted the best for her - for her to realize that she could still find happiness and for her to stand up and take charge again. Chase, on the other hand, has been dealing with addiction since he was young and on the fast track to fame and success; however, after hitting rock bottom ten years ago, he put his rock star dreams aside and focused on becoming a business man. Chase was a wild card. Sometimes he's a stanch, dignified businessman while other times he's reckless and adventurous, living with his heart on his sleeve. I loved seeing both sides of Chase because no matter what role he was in he always tried to remain good. I admired his determination to help his friend's sister get help for her own addiction problems, and I also loved seeing his bond with his brother.

2. The Romance - The best word to describe Taryn and Chase's romance? Tumultuous. From the moment they first meet, there's an undeniable spark. A spark that neither one of them can resist, no matter the consequences it may bring. Taryn and Chase had their ups and downs throughout Lost For You. Sometimes they fit together like two perfect puzzle pieces. I loved the good times. They were sweet as well as sexy and gave me hope for a happy ending. However, other times they mix as well as oil and water, which is to say not at all. Those times frustrated me to no end. These two were so incredibly stubborn.

3. All The Feels - Lost For You is such an emotional read from start to finish. Jayne made it so incredibly to feel what the characters were feeling. My heart felt like it went on a roller coaster, that's how nutty things became.

4. Doesn't Shy Away from the Tough - Jayne doesn't shy away from the tough moments here. As mentioned before, Chase struggles with addiction. He's been clean for ten years; however, he still struggles with it every single day. Throughout the book he experiences may ups and downs regarding it, especially towards the end. I won't go too much into what exactly happened; however, I will say that I appreciated the fact that Jayne never gave Chase's addiction problems a happily-ever-after. They never just disappeared or were fixed by love and romance. Instead, they were a part of his life - something he needed to work on every day.

What I Didn't Like:

1. The Ending - The ending here was incredibly sudden and open-ended. It honestly didn't feel like a complete story. It felt weird to leave the characters at the stage they were at. There was some conclusion; however, there were still so many things left unresolved. I wanted more.

Overall, Lost for You an emotional and romantic read. I may have felt like my heart was being ripped apart at times, but it was so incredibly worth it. I can't wait to read the previous Six Street Bands books.

I’m an author who hails from Texas (by way of California), currently living in Sin City.

A romantic by nature, I believe in fairytales and happily ever afters. And music. Because the best stories always have a soundtrack.
