Books Read this Week:
American Panda by Gloria Chao: Quirky as well as heartbreaking and heartwarming! I especially loved the college setting.
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw: I had high expectations for this, and Shea didn't not let me down one bit! Eerie as well as suspenseful, The Wicked Deep is perfect for fans of witches, curses, and stories of love as well as lost. Can't wait to talk more about this one in March!
Rise by Sierra Cross: An intriguing series opener. Witches, warlocks, and the like are always something I find interesting, and that wasn't any different here. I just wish there was more development in some areas.
Thrive by Aly Martinez: Link to my review below.
Lost for You by Jayne Frost: Link to my review below.
Wicked Charm by Amber Hart: Second DNF of the year :( I'll be summarizing my thoughts on Thursday!
Confessions of an Angry Girl (Confessions, #1) by Louise Rozett: Another #BeatTheBacklist success! I loved this so much that I immediately bought the sequel!
Girl Unmoored by Jennifer Gooch Hummer: I cried my eyes out while reading this! Seriously, I had all the feels.
The Last to Let Go by Amber Smith: Another emotional read! Amber did a fantastic job of addressing the effects abuse leaves on a family.

New in my Reading/Blogging/Personal Life:
As of Monday, I'll be back to the real world of work/school so I've been enjoying my last week of freedom. It was a relatively quiet and snowy one. I ran some errands (applied for my first every passport so that was exciting!), read some books, and watched some TV. I've been re-watching Monk since it was added on Amazon Prime. I don't remember how all the episodes ended and there's some I swear I missed so it's been fun rediscovering them. I also re-watched the first two Pitch Perfect movies, and I forgot how funny they are!
Have a great week!
Have a great week!
I was just talking about Monk the other day. Another blogger was looking for a funny crime show. I absolutely adored that show! You have been a reading beast! I knock out some books during the week, but 1-2 are audio. I don't think I ever get more than 5 read. I read The Dangerous Art of Blending In and The Last to Go one after the other. I was so emotionally drained, I had to read a fluff book after that. I totally share your thoughts on American Panda. It was interesting for me, because my daughter's father is Taiwanese. I knew a few things, and I learned a few things. Glad Wicked Deep was good. I have that one somewhere on my list (I am on early Feb ARCs right now). I hope all goes well returning to school.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got some pretty good books this week. I hope you enjoy them. Have a great week!
