Books Read this Week:

Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren: THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD! It's made me want to read all of Christina Lauren's other books. I need more!
Aces of Shade by Amanda Foody: Such an exciting series opener! Just wish I didn't have to wait a year until the next one :(
The Rules of Rebellion by Amity Hope: Another adorable and heartwarming read from Amity!
Winter Glass by Lexa Hillyer: I thought Spindle Glass was good but this took everything to a whole new level. Sad to see this series end, but I can't wait to see what Lexa has in store for us next.
Breaking the Ice by Julie Cross: Everyone's been singing praises for this since last year, but of course I didn't listen and now I'm hitting myself over the head for it. This was so stinkin' cute! The chemistry, the characters, the slight mystery - I was enamored!
Zombie Abbey by Lauren Baratz-Logsted: Lauren's books are usually very hit-or-miss for this me, but I enjoyed this one. It's an odd little book that's for sure - kind of reminds me of a Downtown Abby meets Santa Clarita Diet. I'll be curious to see if there's a sequel - the ending was very open-ended.

Life Update:

Another week gone in the blink of an eye!

Easter went well. My mom spoiled me with an Easter basket, which made me happy. I may be 22, but I still love getting a basket full of candy. And the hummingbird cake turned out to be DELICIOUS! Seriously, if you love bananas/pineapples, you have to try it. It's the perfect amount of sweet - not overwhelming but sweet enough to keep you content - and the cream cheese icing was a great touch. But lets be serious I'd just eat a plate of cream cheese icing for dessert if that was acceptable lol I wish I had a picture of it to share but it disappeared before anyone could take one :(

I also went shopping yesterday and found not one but two things I liked, which is so rare! I'm incredibly picky when it comes to clothes/shoes since I know that if I only half like something I'll never wear it. I got an adorable pair of flats from TJMax (they were originally $70 but I got them for $30!) and a simple yet cute dress from Banana Republic (another steal - originally $70 but I got it for $28!). Unfortunately, the shoes and dress won't work together but I'll survive lol

In the last bit of news this week:
I hit 100 (!!!!) books in my Goodreads challenge this week. I don't know how I've managed this and I don't know if the pace will continue, but for now I'm celebrating.

Have a great week everyone! :)

  1. The amount of reading your accomplish is incredible considering all the other things you have to do. Congrats on 100! My daughter became obsessed with Banana Republic when she had to start dressing in business casual. They have some really great stuff, and you did get an amazing deal. Right! How good was Love and Other Words. I cannot get over how much I have loved CL's recent work. The Beautiful and Wild Season book were ok, but Autoboygraphy and LaOW blew me away. I heard Roomies was great too.

  2. You read 3 books that I totally loved too. Love and Other Words, Ace of Shades and Breaking the Ice. I'm going to die waiting for the sequel to Ace of Shades! Awesome about finding the dress and shoes for such low prices. I love making finds like that!
Happy reading and have a good week!

  9. You're a reading machine!! I wish that my Goodreads challenge was telling me what yours says instead of the "You're 10 Books Behind" that I constantly have to look at, lol. Have a good week! :)

  11. Wow, you have read a lot of books! My in-laws brought us an Easter basket, too - so now we have too much candy in the house! I hate a love/hate relationship with clothes shopping - I love shopping, but it's so hard for me to find something I actually like!

  12. One is never too old to receive treat baskets. :)

Zombie Abbey sounds like a fun read. Love the title.

It's always good to get clothes on sale. Makes the shopping experience all the more fun. :)

Hope you have a great week!

I don't think you're ever too old for an Easter basket, because... candy? lol I ate way too much this week, all the chocolate!

Congrats on the GR challenge, hitting 100 books! Wow!

  14. I love the look of the books you've read and the books you've got this week. The Slave Prince looks great.
Sounds like you did some good shopping. I'm also really picky when it comes to clothes and shoes etc. So much so.. that shopping for clothes isn't really my idea of fun. LOL!
Have a great week and happy reading.

  15. Your had such a sweet Easter. That cake description left me hungry. =P Those were greats bargains. Congratulations on reading 100 books! How did you do that?!

I hope you enjoy your new books. I received The Demon Race today and I'm very excited about it. I can't wait to plunge into it (sadly, because of my busy schedule I'll only be able to pick up in August).

    Happy readings! ;
