Books Read this Week:

Don't Believe It by Charlie Donlea: Have you ever had to reread the last few chapters of a book simply because you couldn't believe what was happening? That's what happened to me here! Charlie threw such a curveball in at the last second. I had part of it figured out, but the other part? NO CLUE WHATSOEVER. I was fully shook...I still am shook in fact. Look out for my review tomorrow (Monday, June 4th!).

Onyx and Ivory by Mindee Arnett: I finally finished this! It took me TWO WEEKS, which is super rare. On one side, I liked it. The concept was interesting and the excitement did build as the story progressed. The ending was my favorite part - I wanted to know more! But...on the other other side, I was SO bored for a good chunk of it (mathematically speaking about 75 percent). It took forever for things to get moving, and while I appreciate backstory and setting the scene, it becomes old and tiresome when it holds back the book from reaching its full potential. Look out for my review this week!

What I'm Currently Reading:

Save the Date by Morgan Matson: I need something light and romantic after Don't Believe It so I figured this would be a good choice. I love Morgan's books!

Life Update:

First of all I'm sorry for being MIA this week!! :(

I forget just how grueling moving could be. *Fingers crossed* I stay where I am for a decent amount of time! It also didn't help that I didn't have internet for the majority of the week. Seriously, I never realize how dependent I am on internet until I suddenly don't have it.

The good thing though? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new apartment! It's so spacey, and I have a balcony, which I'm in love with, and while it's located outside of Philly, the complex is located on a huge piece of land so it doesn't feel too city like. It's such a set-up from where I was before, and it's in such a great location. I have Target, Walmart, and Wegmans just 5 minutes down the road....which may end up being a bad thing lol

And for another piece of big news...I started a new job this week! After much thought and consideration, I decided grad school wasn't the right thing for me at this time. It's a long story, but to make it short: I wasn't very happy and instead of containing to be unhappy I decided to take action. So I made the jump to move back to the Philly area, which I've missed a lot this last year, and look into industry jobs. So far I think I've made the right choice. The job is going well, I feel a heck of a lot happier, and while it will take a while to get used to everything I'll be doing, it seems like something I'm going to like.

So between the new job and moving I was SO busy! The only thing I wanted to do when I got home was veg out in front of the TV. Now that things are settling down, though, I should be around more this week.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. So glad you're doing what's right for you and doing what makes you happy! The new apartment sounds great, and yeah, moving/getting internet set up can be such a pain! Good luck at the new job!

  2. I hope your enjoying Save The Date! Moving and new jobs can definitely be stressful. When me and my fiance moved into our current apartment (3 years ago), our move in date happened to fall right on his first day of training at his current job. So that was not fun. But in the end everything worked out. He still has that job and we still live in that apartment. LOL. Its good to hear that your doing whats good for you. Its better to be doing something that's making you happy than stressing yourself out and being miserable. Hope you have a great week!

  3. Congratulations on your new job.

You should always do what makes you happy. If one day you want to go to grad school, then you go. If don't want, don't go! Just don't do something because other people expect it from you.

I hope you enjoy your new books.

    Happy readings! ;)

  5. I'm really curious about Onyx & Ivory as I kinda wanted to get that one! The fact that it was a little slow concerns me, but I'll have to check your full review to get a good sense of it. :)

Congrats on the move, and the new apartment (and job)! Glad it's going well- have a super week!
