When I first was offered the chance to be part of the blog tour for Blissful Lies, I was beyond excited. I loved the cover. It was sparkly and eye catching. The title also caught my eye as did the summary. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy Blissful Lies nearly as much as I would have liked. Even worse, I gave it up after 100 or so pages.
The first area in which Blissful Lies didn't mesh well for me was the characters. I found them to be extremely materialistic and selfish. In addition, due to the changing POVs, I never really had the chance to connect to any of them, which as I've said before in previous reviews, can really break a book for me. In addition, the plot didn't capture my attention all that well. The premise was interesting enough, but I had a hard time believing the main romantic relationship. It seemed to come out of nowhere, and it had the insta-love feel to it too.
In all, Blissful Lies wasn't the book for me sadly enough. However, I still suggest you give it a try if it seems like the book for you (I really think fans who read Gossip Girl and the A List when they were teens or tweens may enjoy it). Others have enjoyed it. I just wasn't one of them sadly enough.
