Review: Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines

Summary/Cover Image from Author's Website:
To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.
Review:

In my eyes, Abbi Glines is quickly becoming the new queen of YA/New Adult contemporary romance, and Fallen Too Far, her latest book, just proved this point even further. It was steamy as well as sexy. It contained kick arse main characters who I adored. Better yet, it had a plot that kept me hooked from the first page to the last. Basically, Fallen Too Far was everything I had hoped it would be and much, much more!!

Fallen Too Far begins the story of Blaire, a girl who's learned the hard way that the best person to depend on is yourself. In the last few years, Blaire's had everything fall apart in front of her eyes. First, it was her twin sister's sudden death. Then her father walked out on her and her mother. Lastly, it was her mother's sudden cancer and her even quicker death. Left with nowhere to go and no one to depend on, Blaire asks the only person she can think of for help: the man who left her family all those years ago. Now in Florida with nothing but her truck and a few personal items, Blaire has nothing but hope and determination to get her through. However, what happens when she begins to fall head over heals for the one guy who is totally off limits? Only time and more pages will tell in this fast paced and dramatic read bound to get anyone's heart racing!

Blaire was a character I liked and rooted for from the start. She was strong and dauntless yet still had a childhood like innocence to her. Better yet, I loved seeing how she would do anything for her friends and family if given the chance. It made me like her character even more. The addition of Rush also added a great aspect to the book. At first, I wasn't the biggest fan of him. He seemed mean and rude. However, as the book continued and more was reveled, I could understand why he was that way...even though I was and still am a little bit mad over how he was to Blaire at first. The addition of the other characters also proved to be a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed reading about Blaire's friends and coworkers at the country club she worked at as well as the various nice as well as mean people of Rush's life. Everyone brought something worth while to the table.

The plot in this was also spectacular, and kept my hands glued to my iPad until I got to the last page. I loved seeing Blaire and Rush's relationship develop. It was steamy and hot and contained just enough twists and turns to constantly have me on the edge of my seat wondering if they would ever get their happy ending. Better yet, I loved all the various drama and subplots that emerged from the past, especially at the ending. It really manged to blow me away, and I can't wait to see how Abbi develops everything furthermore in the sequel.

Lastly, I enjoyed the writing as well. It wasn't anything overly spectacular, but it contained enough to keep me happy, and really when I think of it, the reason why I love Abbi's books so much is because of the characters and romance. They really are the best parts.

In all, Fallen Too Far is a perfect read for older teens and adults alike! However, word of warning: the ending will leave you craving more!

Grade: A+

Fallen Too Far (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads) is now out!

Source: Purchased from Barnes and Noble

Side Note: This one was a little steamy at points sexual content wise so I definitely only suggest it for older teens and adults.
