The rules have never applied to film director Sebastian Hart. He’s always done what he wants, when he wants. But after one too many wild nights, Sebastian finds himself performing community service in the unlikely role of big brother to a ten-year-old boy in need of a father figure. It seems like fate is playing with him when the boy’s mother turns out to be the girl he grew up next door to, the one person he’s never been able to win over with his smile or charm.
After the death of her husband, Grace Wilder has her hands full working as a paramedic and being both mother and father to their son. The last thing she needs is for the bane of her teenage existence to show up, or for her son to contract a case of hero worship. Even worse is the fact that the boy who once made her life miserable has turned into a man who has the power to destroy her with his devastating smile and sexy eyes.
Review:
Entangled is becoming my go-to publisher for romance, and The Irredeemable Billionaire, Lexxie Couper's latest addition to the Muse series, only solidified this statement further.
Basically, The Irredeemable Billionaire made my heart so incredibly happy! I don't think there was a moment where I didn't have a huge grin on my face! Seriously, I'm glad I read this one at home because I probably looked ridiculous with all the smiling I was doing.
The Irredeemable Billionaire introduces us to Grace Wilder and Sebastian Hart, childhood enemies brought together again through the Big Brother program. Grace and Sebastian were fantastic on their own, but together they were on fire!
Grace is feisty and stubborn, never afraid to call someone out on their c$@p, and I just loved that about her. There's something just so great about a determined, sassy main character. Plus, Grace is a fantastic mom. Her relationship with her son was adorable, and I especially loved how she'd go to the end of the world to make him happy - even when it meant having to make nice with her childhood enemy.
Sebastian is the typical billionaire playboy - hardworking, wild, and a commitment-phobe. However, everything changes for him the moment he walks into Grace's house. Suddenly, there's a little boy looking up to him, and he couldn't be happier. His friendship/big brother relationship with Cody, Grace's son, was downright adorable! I loved how he made Cody feel special, and helped him further his love of film. Plus, it didn't hurt that all the times they gained up on Grace had me laughing out loud.
Together, Sebastian and Grace were great! There banter was off the charts. There were so many one-liners, especially on Grace's part, that had me dying! Better yet, their romance felt realistic, even though the book took place over a week. It was spicy and sweet, enough to leave any romance reader happily content.
In addition to Grace, Sebastian, and Cody, there's an assortment of other great characters, such as Grace's best friends, Sebastian's brother, and Grace's neighbor who just couldn't win. The last one in particular always caused for some great, romantic comedy like tension.
Laugh out loud funny, charming, and romantic, The Irredeemable Billionaire is a must read romance! There's so much to love about this one...the characters, the romance, and the HEA ending. My only compliant? I wish it would've went on forever!
Grade: A+
