Books Read this Week:
So many good books this week!
THE TRUTH BENEATH THE LIES was suspenseful as well as super addicting. I went into it planning on reading a few chapters. Alas, I ended up reading the whole book and going to bed way past by bedtime. But it was so worth it!
THE IRREDEEMABLE BILLIONAIRE was fantastic, one of those books that left my heart feeling so incredibly happy. It was witty, charming, and well written. Plus it had characters that you couldn't help but utterly love and root for. I just wish it could've went on forever!
WRAPPED UP IN YOU started off a little shaky; however, the more I read the more I loved it. The characters were perfectly imperfect, the holiday themes were enough to make the Christmas lover in me happy, and the romance was steamy and sweet.
UNDRESSED was a fun read. I didn't LOVE it, but I sure did like it. The beach setting was also perfect.
THE SWEETHEART MYSTERY not only contained a suspenseful whodunit mystery but also a second chance romance! Plus, it contained a fainting goat, and really, what's not to love about that?
THE CHAOS OF STANDING STILL was dark yet hopeful at the same time. I thought Jessica did a great job of making a commonly used storyline fresh and exciting. Plus, I loved the setting.

New in my Reading/Blogging/Personal Life:
Ever heard the phrase when it rains, it pours? Well, that's how life has been going for me these last two weeks, and the reason why I've been so MIA. This week, in particular, was just rough - my car wouldn't start on Monday and then I got several rounds of bad news. However, things are turning around and getting better thanks to my family, friends, and some good books of course. And luckily, my car only needed a new battery! Here's to a hopefully better week. Other than that, it's been COLD in PA - temperatures hovering in the twenties this weekend. It made me incredibly thankful for fuzzy socks, cuddly blankets, and tea. However, I could smell snow in the air this Saturday, and it has me hoping for a snow shower one of these days - but no big storms, I can live without those! Also, the new Taylor Swift album? I'm loving it - there's just something I can't resist about new Taylor music.
Sorry to hear you had a rough week, but a bad battery is good news compared to what could have been wrong with your car. I am in NJ, so we are in this winter vortex with you. Just blame La Nina! I loved The Truth Beneath the Lies. I know some of the "mysteries" were not that hard to figure out, but there were some great reveals in there none the less, and I loved the mood Searcy created, totally kept me flipping the pages. I loved being in the airport during The Chaos of Standing Still, but I just didn't like Lottie at all. I am not sure what Brody was going for with her. Ryn and Lottie's relationship just seemed unhealthy to me, but I loved the airport scenes, I thought the ending was great, and I cared about Ryn.
ReplyDeleteSounds like its time to hunker down with a good book.

ReplyDeleteHappy readings! ;)

Wow, what a coincidence! I got in my car yesterday and it didn't start. Luckily I was at home...and called Triple A. I also needed a new battery. Who knew they got so expensive since the last time I bought one? LOL.
ReplyDeleteBut...I am always grateful to have these things happen in safe places.
Enjoy your week, and I got Bonfire this week. Hope to love it.

It is definitely starting to get cold, and sorry to hear it was a rough week. Glad to hear the car trouble wasn't TOO serious, although any car trouble is no fun really. Have a great week, and hope your books are all good. :)
