Review:

Prior to reading False Memory, I hadn't heard much about it. However, once I read the summary and saw the cover, I knew I would give it at least a try. I'm always looking for a good edge of your seat sci-fi and this seemed like just that kind of read. Luckily, False Memory had me hooked from start to end not only because of its twists and turns but all the action and drama it contained. Quite simply I'm officially hooked on this series.

False Memory opens with bang as Miranda, the main character, wakes up with no memory besides her first name. She doesn't know where she came, she doesn't know her parents names, and she especially doesn't know why she can install panic in people's minds...panic that leads to disaster. However, there's one boy she doesn't do this too and that's Peter. Peter claims he knows her, that they are best friends, and that he can help her only if she comes with him. Seeing him as her only chance, she lets him lead the way as he opens her eyes to a past she can barley remember and secret that means risking everything she has.

False Memory is an incredibly plot driven book, and if done right, sometimes that's all I need for a book to capture my attention. From the first page, I was hooked on Miranda's story. I wanted to know what she was exactly as well as how she lost all her memories. The explanations behind it were crazy yet interesting, and once I found out more about Miranda and her friends super human abilities, I was officially hooked. I couldn't wait to find out more about their past as well as the big secret that threatened their world.

The characters in this while not extremely well developed were lots of fun to read about as well. I thought Dan did a great job of capturing Miranda's voice as well as her fears and questions she faced over her past as well as her future. I also enjoyed finding out more about the rest of Miranda's team, but my favorite would have to be Peter, who was just adorably sweet. The villains in this were also attention grabbing, and I was constantly rooting against them and super mad when they managed to win a round.

The writing was also decent. I thought Dan did a good job of creating the plot and back story as well as the characters. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he expands on it all in the future.

In all, False Memory by Dan Krokos is an incredibly thrilling novel, one that's sure to have any reader on the edge of their seat.
