Review: Because of Low by Abbi Glines

Summary/Cover Image from Publisher's Website:
It’s steamy in the Gulf town of Sea Breeze. Physical attraction is the only way to beat the heat in this start to a series from bestselling, previously self-published author Abbi Glines.

Playboy Cage owns the apartment, and he hosts a revolving door of people, in and out, at all times. Most of them are long-legged hot girls who are never there more than a night or two. When Cage’s new roommate, Marcus, enters the picture, he’s just looking to nurse a broken heart. But there’s one particular semi-frequent regular who catches his eye.

Willow—“Low”—is the one Cage wants to marry. But the two of them are night and day, and Marcus can’t see how Low puts up with all of Cage’s womanizing. What she really needs is a real man....like good-looking and sensible Marcus. But that’s going to get real complicated and real messy—real fast.
Review:

When I first saw that this was Will's story, a secondary character from Breathe, I was beyond excited. Will was one of my favorite parts of Breathe, and I was really hoping he would getting his happily ever after within this one. Thankfully, he did, and better yet, it was quite the ride. Basically, Because of Low was everything I had hoped it would be and much, much more. It was romantic, suspenseful, funny....just such a great contemporary!

One of my favorite aspects of Because of Low was finally getting to see things from Will's side. Will is such a great guy. He's sweet, funny, dedicated, and extremely swoon worthy. What I enjoyed most about his character was seeing just how great he was to his family and friends. It said a lot about him as a person, and better yet, it added lots of drama and fun to the book. With Will also came the addition of Low, his romantic interest. Low is quite the character to say the least. She is sassy, to the point, and she really managed to give Will a run for his money. I loved seeing their relationship grow, but I'll get to that later on. I also enjoyed seeing familiar faces from Breathe as well as some new faces such as Cage (who I ADORED!).

The plot in this was also a lot of fun. It was the typical Abbi Glines set up, but I loved it nonetheless. Low and Will's relationship moved at a great speed to tell the truth. I thought it was pretty realistic as well. I also really enjoyed the sub plots involving Low's family life as well as Will's. It was interesting to see how everything came together at the end.

The writing was also good. Abbi did a great job of switching back and forth between Low and Will, and better yet, I felt that she really got a hang of dialogue in this one. It sounded much more real than what was in Breathe, and that added a lot to the book.

In all, Because of Low is a great addition to the Sea Breeze series, and I can't wait to see what's next for Cage in While It Lasts!

Grade: A+

Because of Low (Amazon, BN, Goodreads) is now out!

Side Note: While this is the second book in the Sea Breeze series, each book stands on its own completely. It has crossover characters though, so it's a little more fun to have read the past books, but still...
