New in my Reading/Blogging/Personal Life:

I don't want to say this week was a disaster - because in the long run it really wasn't that bad - but at the same time yes, it was a complete disaster.

Disaster #1: So on Saturday I had the feeling that there was something wrong with the heat in my apartment. It would get warm and then cold and then repeat the process all over again. Then on Sunday it decided to just stop working all together. So basically from Saturday until Tuesday evening I had little to no heat, which let me tell, was not fun - I don't think I've ever appreciated heat as much as I do now. Of course, the no heat had to happen next as we got some of the coldest temperatures so far this fall. Alas, I now have heat!

Diaster #2: So on Wednesday night we got about 2-3 inches of snow (of course just when the snow from Saturday completely melted!), and you know what I didn't really care because this time I had functioning heat. However, as I was walking home from class, I slipped on black ice and face planted. Luckily, I only scrapped up my knees and hands (my one knee hurts especially when I walk up stairs now but I'll live). My pride on the other hand? Cut into deeply lol I'm sure at least 20 people saw - it's a busy sidewalk. So in all, be careful: black ice can get you on even the clearest of sidewalks!

Other than the two disasters, it was a pretty okay week. I studied and devoured Nina Lane's entire Sugar Rush series. After Monday, I'll officially be on break, and I CAN NOT WAIT - I need a break so badly.

Also, can I just say how excited I am for Busted and Furyborn?! They're two of my most anticipated releases of 2018, and while Furyborn technically doesn't come out till May, I may (okay I totally will) read it way before then!

So in all: not the best of times but not the worst of times. Appreciate heat and watch out for black ice - it's a nasty little thing!

Have a great week everyone!

  4. Oh sorry to hear that your week was kinda bad. The black ice accident was funny though.. hehe.. i know what you feel. I’m kinda clumsy, so humiliating myself in public happens almost every day. Hehe.. thank God, they’re just strangers. Haha.
Anyway, your new books look great. I hope you enjoy them all. Happy reading and have a wonderful weekend. 😁❤️

    1. It is funny now that a couple of days have passed. My family was laughing their heads off about it when I first told them - they all want to know when I always seem to fall forwards instead of backwards haha

    1. I'm in the middle of Neighborhood Girls and I'm really liking it. The MC isn't very likable but she's so real that it doesn't really matter. Hope you enjoy it as well!

  7. Sorry to hear about the heat, and you falling as well! Ouch. Glad you're okay though and hopefully your knee heals quickly. :)

Falling is the worst when people see it! I fell once shoveling snow and got up so quick lol, looking around to see if any neighbors saw. I imagined the whole street laughing even though probably no one saw...

Gray Wolf Island looks good, as does Neighborhood Girls.

  9. Sorry to hear about your week, but everything is fine now, right? Last week I went to my friends house and at the corner I slipped and fell in the snow. I was freezing! Pff, life. :) Glad to hear your heating is back again.

    1. Exactly! One you hit rock bottom (or the sidewalk in my case lol) you have to go up from there lol I just started Busted, and I'm liking it but I'm not completely dedicated to it yet if that makes sense. Hopefully, it gets really good - the Veronica Mars comparison is what dragged me in.

  12. Sorry you had a bit of a disastrous week!! But I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to appreciate heat ;) It's scorching hot here and I hate it, lol.

I am so intrigued by Busted!! Just recently I've been seeing it around a lot. Look forward to reading your thoughts on it.

Hope this week is an amazing one for you, Lauren :)

    1. I'm one of those weirdos who loves, loves, loves heat so I would gladly switch places with you lol and I just started Busted, and so far so good! I wanted it on the Veronica Mars comparison alone, which may make or break it since I LOVE veronica mars!

  15. Oh my! You did have a rough week. I am glad to hear that your heat is working again and you weren't seriously hurt in your fall. Enjoy your break! I am really considering downloading Furyborn. I am auto-approved for Sourcebooks on Edelweiss and have looked at it several times. Enjoy your new books! I have The Roanoke Girls on the way to me from Blogging for Books as well. Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Carole! Not that I've read Furyborn yet, but I definitely suggest checking it out. Everyone seems to love it (which hopefully means it's really good!). I hope you enjoy The Roanoke Girls as well. As soon as I read the synopsis on blogging for books, I knew I had to have it - sounds like just my kind of read. :)

  16. I'm so glad that you weren't seriously hurt. No heat? That would stink so I'm glad they got that problem resolved. I read and reviewed Murder on the Lake of Fire too but I have to admit, my favorite "character" was Bobby the Bobcat!

    1. Having no heat is definitely something I wouldn't wish upon anybody after my ordeal this week! It wouldn't have been too, too bad, but the temperatures of course had to be in the low teens. I loved Bobby the Bobcat too! I was shocked when he showed up, but he was the perfect pet for Jeff that's for sure.
