Smooth: A Love Story by Tracey Ewens

Much thanks goes to R.J. and InkslingerPR!

Won:

An ARC of Monday's Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson

Thanks, Tiffany!

Bought:

The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

Books Read this Week:

Everything All at Once by Katrina Leno: Such an underrated book/author! If you love YA contemporary you MUST give it a try!

The Gallery of Unfinished Girls by Lauren Karcz: I picked this one up based on the pretty cover (I love flamingos, what can I say), and I ended up really enjoying it. It's a quiet book - character driven rather than action driven. I'll be talking more about it at the end of the month!

The Bakersville Dozen by Kristina McBride: I had so many hopes for this but it ended up letting me down hard.

Everless by Sara Holland: Just as fantastic as everyone said it was! Look out for my review this Tuesday!

Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp: The reviews for this have been incredibly mixed so I was slightly worried going into it; however, I really enjoyed it. It's not an easy read by any means but it's so incredibly worthwhile.

Nice Try, Jane Sinner by Lianne Oelke: This was so funny! My family called me out for how much I was laughing out loud.

The Key To Everything by Paula Stokes: This book gave me ALL THE FEELS. Look out for my review on Thursday!

New in my Reading/Blogging/Personal Life:

First off, Happy New Year's Eve everyone! I hope all of you have an amazing night/New Years!

I couldn't resist buying The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue when I saw it on sale. I'm also so excited to have an ARC of Monday's Not Coming. After reading Tiffany's debut I'd read anything by her!

It's hard to believe it's been less than a week since Christmas! It feels like it's been AGES. Christmas was relatively uneventful but still nice. We were supposed to go to my great aunt's house for breakfast, but it ended up being canceled do to icy roads/driveways. I didn't think the roads were that bad, but most of my extended family is older so no one wanted to risk a fall, which I could understand. Unfortunately, I made a large egg bake the night before so I ended up with the entirety of that. I hated the thought of wasting it, especially since it was good, so my mom and I trudged through it over the week. My cookies also turned out great - maybe a little too good lol

Other than that it was a quiet week. Got some reading in, relaxed, and spent time with family. Funny story, though (well not so much as haha funny more like my life is a joke funny): I bought a new front tire on Friday, and when I went out to check on my car on Saturday it was completely flat. I have no idea what happened. I can't believe that I was so unlucky as to have run over a nail in the short drive from the mechanic to my house. Guess getting that taken care of will be my first business of the new year :(

Have a great week everyone!

  3. That is an awesome win! I want to read that book too. I am shouting with you - read Katrino Leno books! You know I loved Everything All at Once and I am not working through her backlist. I am glad you liked Before I Let Go. I loved the short story I read from Nijkamp, but was scared of her new book because of the reviews. Now I feel like it will be pretty good. I keep seeing great things for Jane Sinner. That's why I moved it up to this week. Sorry mother nature ruined your Christmas breakfast. *sad face* Happy New Year!
