Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. I've also decided to start linking up to Can't-Wait Wednesday hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings.
Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny, but not big, important emotions—like grief. And love. He thinks he’s defective. His family knows better—that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride.
As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity arises to come to America and meet a potential husband, she can’t turn it down, thinking this could be the break her family needs. Seducing Khai, however, doesn’t go as planned. Esme’s lessons in love seem to be working…but only on herself. She’s hopelessly smitten with a man who’s convinced he can never return her affection.
With Esme’s time in the United States dwindling, Khai is forced to understand he’s been wrong all along. And there’s more than one way to love.
After devouring The Kiss Quotient on Monday, I went to Goodreads to mark the book as "done" (always the first thing I do after finishing a book lol) and was shocked to see that Helen has another book coming out in JANUARY! And not January 2020 but January 2019! I'm beyond excited for this one. I love the cover, and the synopsis sounds interesting; however, after The Kiss Quotient, I'd pretty much read anything Helen wrote.
This sounds cute, although I feel a little bad for Khai that his mother tries to force a wife on him!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice read and something I could read in between my darker things. Nice choice!
ReplyDeleteI have the Kiss Quotient up soon. I am getting to the FOMO point, and will probably push it up. And yeah, based on all the love KQ is getting, I totally added this to my TBR.
ReplyDeleteNice when there's another book coming soon! I always love discovering that! This one looks great. Hope it's good!
ReplyDeleteOooo, I just got a copy of The Kiss Quotient! It sounds aweaome. I hope you enjoy this new book as well, when you get the chance to read it!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, Lauren. =)
