Summary:
Jena, Dakota, Skye, and Owen are all at Paradise—the resort in the Caribbean, that is—for different reasons, but in Paradise their lives become tangled together in ways none of them can predict. Over the course of four months, through four voices and four stories, what happened in Paradise will change them all.
In this extraordinary novel, the Printz Honor–winning author brings us her most accomplished work yet. Tangled is a story of the secrets we keep, the risks we take, and the things we do for love.
Review:
Tangled was a cute and fun read that showed that there's always more to people then what meets the eye.
In Tangled, you are first introduced to Jena, then Dakota, then Skye, and lastly Owen with each getting their own separate segments that are divided among months. (Since, I really doubt that makes any sense, here's an example: Jenna's story takes place in April, then Dakota's in May, with every character being part (or at least mentioned) in the other teen's story.) While I'm often not usually that found of that type of writing because of lack of characterization, it ended up working perfectly for Tangled, surprisingly enough! Since, each character was well developed, showed emotional growth throughout, and stood quite well on their own. Plus, as mentioned above, I loved the message that was shown through their interactions with each other, a message that basically said that you should never judge a person by what appears on the surface because there's always more that meets the eye and sometimes what's below can end up surprising you the most.
And because of these complex characters, the plot moved by in rapid speed, making this be a book I finished in less then a couple of hours. Further more, Carolyn proved in this that she can handle the task of writing from more then one character's perspective at a time with a great result occurring overall.
In all, Tangled is a book not to miss simply because it's a delightful read! I can't wait to read more by Ms. Mackler!
Grade: B+
Tangled will be released December 29, 2009! Though until then make sure to keep an eye on Tangled's Harper Collins' page because I'm sure in the next couple of weeks a preview will be put up of the book!

I do like novels with split narratives so I think I might enjoy this. Not my usual type of read but still I'm intrigued by it. Great review.
