Waiting on Wednesday (133)

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Here are my picks for the week....

The Murmurings by Carly Anne West

A teen girl starts hearing the same voices that drove her sister to commit suicide in this creepy, suspenseful novel.

Everyone thinks Sophie’s sister, Nell, went crazy. After all, she heard strange voices that drove her to commit suicide. But Sophie doesn’t believe that Nell would take her own life, and she’s convinced that Nell’s doctor knows more than he’s letting on.

As Sophie starts to piece together Nell’s last days, every lead ends in a web of lies. And the deeper Sophie digs, the more danger she’s in—because now she’s hearing the same haunting whispers. Sophie’s starting to think she’s going crazy too. Or worse, that maybe she’s not...
First of all, isn't the cover of this one super creepy?! The position of the model's head, the eye, the coloring, etc. all make chills run through me when I see it. However, it does look AMAZING! The premise sounds interesting and I can't wait to see how everything plays out.

The Murmurings will be released March 2013!

The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell

Tamora Pierce meets George R. R. Martin in this smart, political, medieval fantasy-thriller.

There is a new king on the throne of Tildor. Currents of political unrest sweep the country as two warring crime families seek power, angling to exploit the young Crown's inexperience. At the Academy of Tildor, the training ground for elite soldiers, Cadet Renee de Winter struggles to keep up with her male peers. But when her mentor, a notorious commander recalled from active duty to teach at the Academy, is kidnapped to fight in illegal gladiator games, Renee and her best friend Alec find themselves thrust into a world rife with crime, sorting through a maze of political intrigue, and struggling to resolve what they want, what is legal, and what is right.
I have to admit I orginally skipped over reading the summery for this one becasue I wasn't the biggest fan of the cover. It didn't make it look like something I would be intersted in, which ended up being so wrong, as this one sounds great. Ever since Graceling, I'm always up for a fantasy-thriller so hpefully I'll end up enjoying this one just as much-if not more!

The Cadet of Tildor will be released January 2013!
