Review: Thigh Highs by Katia Rose

Summary/Cover Image from Author's Website:
Modelling lingerie for her arch-nemesis was not on Christina’s to-do list.

Then again, neither was he.

Aaron Penn might be the talk of the advertising school they both attend, but to Christina he’s just an egomaniac with a cocky smirk to match. Fast forward to the end of term, when a class project gone wrong has her stripping down to a negligee and letting Aaron photograph her to advertise a line of women’s underwear.
She expects suggestive comments and smarmy-eyed stares, but when Aaron gets behind the camera he treats her body like a work of art. Even though all she’s got on is a scrap of satin, the room suddenly feels way too hot.

As the tension between them builds to expensive-panty-melting-levels, Christina finds herself caught between falling for the complicated artist who knows just what poses to put her in, and wondering why he acts like such an irritating hotshot around everyone else.
Review:

Katia Rose's Latte Girl worked its way into my heart earlier this summer so imagine my excitement when I found out that Katia had a second book coming out this Fall - a mere TWO months later! I was beyond thrilled even more so when I read the summery. I mean, modeling lingerie for your arch-nemisis? Now that's bound to be interesting!

The Result? Well that my friends can be summarized in three time periods:

What I Thought Prior to Starting: Thigh Highs can't possible surpass my love of Latte Girl

Thoughts While Reading: OMG. OMG. OMG. This is SO GOOD! I need sleep but I need to know what happens next even more.

Thoughts After Reading: Color me surprised: Thigh Highs was even better than Latte Girl! All hail Katia Rose, the budding queen of romance! Her books are FIRE

Now that we have my overall thought laid out, lets get down to the nitty gritty a.k.a. the three things I loved the most about Thigh Highs

1.  The characters!

Christina was feisty, confident, and sassy - three characteristics I always love in a heroine. She's the kind of girl you don't want on your bad side because she can and she will set you straight and maybe tear you a new one in the process. Even with her bluntness and boldness, it's hard not to utterly love and, more importantly, respect her.

Aaron, on the other hand, is cocky, arrogant, and just an all around huge flirt. At first, I didn't love him. I actually agreed with Christina's  evaluation of him - he was annoying and egotistical. However, as the book progressed, and more was revealed about him, the more I began to love him. Underneath it all, he was this super sweet guy - one who would do anything for the ones he loved.

2. The Chemistry!

One word to describe the chemistry in Thigh Highs? SMOKIN! Trust me when I saw Katia knows how to write a chemistry and tension filled romance to the max. The chemistry between Christina and Aaron always managed to have the pages on fire. Their resulting banter was even better - it was funny, feisty, and sexy. Better yet, the chemistry made their romance all the more believable, in my opinion! No insta-love here by any means; insead, we get a nice, slow build up.

3. The Set Up!

Rather than have alternating chapters, Thigh Highs is broken into four parts. The first and third are told from Christina's POV while the second and forth and told from Aaron's. At first, I wasn't too sure about this. With these kind of reads, I like alternating chapters; however, with Thigh Highs it worked perfectly. Not only did Katia perfectly set up but she used it to her benefit to create tension, twists, and development. Better yet, when reading one character's POV I never felt as if I was missing out on anything or reliving the same details; instead, its time period stood completely on its own.

I could go on all day about this one, but I'll end it here. Basically, if you love romance, especially romance that's laden with chemistry and grand romantic gestures, Thigh Highs is for you! Katia Rose may be new to the scene, but boy are her books GOOD.

Grade: A

Thigh Highs is now out!
