Books Read this Week:

Busted by Gina Ciocca: I had such high hopes for this one (especially given the Veronica Mars comparison) but it didn't really live up to them :( I found the pacing to be off and the writing slightly choppy. I also wished there had been more investigations. Look out for my review next week!

This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada: This book has SO MUCH HYPE, and luckily, it lived up to it and then some! Honestly the best way to describe it is The Hunger Games with one mad scientist and lots of DNA/virus related drama. But I needed the sequel like yesterday!

Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson: This book shook me to my core. Such a fascinating, eye-opening read, and I especially loved the twists and turns. Tiffany definitely knows to write an unputdownable book!

Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills: Everyone (seriously EVERYONE!) seems to love this one. I thought it was pretty great - the main character was charming, quirky, and relatable. The romance was sweet and well developed. And I loved the focus on friendship, especially becoming friends with people who are out of your friend group.

New in my Reading/Blogging/Personal Life:

First up, I'm sorry I didn't post much this week :( I was planning to have posts up on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, but holiday preparations/family time took over!

I finished up finals/school on Monday (what a relief that was!) and then I spent Tuesday through Thursday at my dad's house. It was nice to visit with everyone. I even got to have dinner with some of my friends from undergrad who still live in the area. I also got my hair and nails done, which was super relaxing and nice. I actually haven't had my hair cut since May, and let me tell you - you could definitely tell! On Thursday, I packed up my car and headed to my mom's house, which is where I'll be spending the rest of the holidays. I've started cookie preparations (I'm the cookie master in the family!), and I have the chocolate chips already done. Just need to make the Italian wedding cake cookies and sugar cookies today. On Christmas Day we're heading to my great aunt's house for her annual Christmas breakfast. I volunteered to make an egg casserole this year so *fingers crossed* it turns out well!

Other than that, I got some wonderful reads in! As you can tell by my library haul, I got a little out of control, but I wanted to try to read some more 2017 debuts/releases by the end of the year. As I write this, I'm in the middle of Everything All At Once, and it's so good! I can already tell I'm going to LOVE IT!

Also, I can't believe the amount of books I got this week. I put some Netgalley requests in over the last few weeks, and never thought much of it until the approvals started rolling in on Monday/Tuesday. It was like an early Christmas treat!

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate. If not, I hope you're having a fantastic weekend! Tune in tomorrow for the start of my Top of 2017 posts!

    1. I'm looking forward to starting Renegade! Everyone seems so split on it, which makes me sad since I love Marissa's books. Yes, cookies are pretty much the only thing I can cook well lol I honestly just use the standard recopies but I do everything from scratch - that's my big secret. Merry Christmas!

    1. Merry Christmas, Angela! Foolish Hearts was great. After seeing everyone's glowing reviews for it I bumped it to the top of my TBR. It contains those type of main characters that you just want to be friends with, which is always a plus in my book.

    1. Thanks, Greg! I hope you had a a great holiday too! :) I'm excited to try Brenda Drake's series. She's one of those authors that everyone seems to talk about/love. I'm excited for Zombie Abey as well, but I'm also a teensy bit weary since Lauren's books are usual hit/miss for me.
