"Perfect for fans of Veronica Mars?!" Okay. That's it. I'm SOLD! But seriously, I love books about teenage sleuths and the cover is awesome so fingers crossed it's awesome!
Catching cheaters and liars is a lucrative hobby―until you fall for one of the suspects. Perfect for fans of Veronica Mars, this new novel from the author of Last Year's Mistake will steal your heart!Marisa never planned to be a snoop for hire. It wasn't like she wanted to catch her best friend's boyfriend making out with another girl. But as her reputation for sniffing out cheaters spreads all over school, Marisa finds herself the reluctant queen of busting two-timing boys. And her next case? It's for ex-frenemy Kendall. She's convinced her boyfriend, TJ, has feelings for someone else and persuades Marissa to start spying on him. But the more Marisa gets to know sincere and artistic TJ, the more she starts to fall for him. Worse yet, the feelings seem to be mutual. Marisa knows she needs to give up her investigation―and the spoken-for guy who may just be the love of her life. Then she uncovers new secrets about Kendall and TJ, secrets that take "cheater" to a whole new level...

Embry Woods has secrets. Small ones about her past. Bigger ones about her relationship with town hero Luke and her feelings for someone new. But the biggest secret she carries with her is about what happened that night at the Sea Cliff Inn. The fire. The homeless guy. Everyone thinks Embry is a hero, too, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Embry thinks she’ll have to take the secret to her grave, until she receives an anonymous note—someone else knows the truth. Next comes a series of threatening messages, asking Embry to make impossible choices, forcing her to put her loved ones at risk. Someone is playing a high stakes game where no one in Embry’s life is safe. And their last move is murder...
Paula Stokes is an author that I NEED to read, and really, I have no excuse since I own not one but two of her books. This one sounds amazing - I can't wait to find out what Embry is hiding!

Oooh, Hidden Pieces sounds intense! I want to know what she's hiding, too!
ReplyDeleteI am curious about Busted! I didn't love Ciocca's first book, but this one sounds interesting. I lowkey gave up on Stokes' books since I haven't enjoyed her contemporary (hit or miss). But. I hope you enjoy these books when you get the chance to read them!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
Ooooh, they both sound really good! I wonder what happened at Sea Cliff Inn? I will be keeping an eye our for Hidden Pieces!
ReplyDeleteBoth books seem to have such different tones! It seems like both will be great reads though. :) I really like the idea of Busted! I haven't read too many teenage sleuth books, but this sounds so fun. It's a bit harder for me to pick up books that deal with harder subjects, but I seem to enjoy them some more!
ReplyDeleteI hope you love these! Have a great rest of your week. :)
Here is my WoW for the week if you want to check it out!
Genni @ Ready, Set, Read!
